I like art films and my favourite directors are Bergman , Antonioni, Lucino Visconti and Alan Resnais . Among
contemporary Indian directors I like Meera Nair and Buddhadev Dasgupta who made such films as Namesake and Charachar

My favourite writer is Lawrence Durrell and I especially like the Alexandria Quartet .
My favourite Bengali poet is Jibanananda Das
I am interested in alternative energy ,alternative housing and
alternative food production including biodiesel production from Jatropha as a solution to world poverty .
My favourite cuisine is south east asian such as chillie crab and steamed fish.
